These two in-form sides looked well matched in the early stages with Thurley hitting a weak shot when well placed for the hosts, then the visitors centre forward shooting just wide. On 31 mins Hunt finished a powerful run which ended with a shot that was easily saved. On 35 mins Beccles no 8 lost his marker and scored with a crisp close range shot to give his side the lead. Forder then had a chance for Bradenham but his shot was weak.
H T 0 – 1.
The visitors started the second half strongly and on 52 mins their no 9 shot over when well placed, then two mins later a good chance was headed over. On 59 mins they were awarded a penalty which was converted to increase their lead, and they were now looking likely winners. On 66 mins another well worked Beccles move ended with their no. 9 scoring again. The game was now beyond Bradenham’s reach and the visitors continued to produce chances, one of which was brilliantly saved by home keeper Scott. On 86 mins Bush hit a free kick over the bar for Bradenham, and the final whistle came as something of a relief on a day which was not one of their better ones. The visitors looked definite title contenders.
F T 0 – 3.
